The Sudlersville Volunteer
Fire Company is one of (9) volunteer fire companies
in Queen Anne's County, Maryland, located on the Eastern
Shore of Maryland. The company runs about 500 calls per year
and provides mutual aid to our surrounding communities, and
also to Kent County, Maryland, Caroline County, Maryland and
Kent County, Delaware. The department is staffed by
volunteer men and women of all ages - 24/7. We are also
staffed 24/7 by 1 paramedic transport unit out of our station.
The SVFC is a very young and energetic company with many
active years to come. We are housed centrally out of 1
station and respond with Two Engines, One Truck, One Heavy
Rescue, One Brush Unit, One Tanker, Two ALS Ambulances, a
Chief's Unit , 2 Utility vehicles, 1 Fire Gator , and 1 EMS mule.
SVFC is a family away from home that is dedicated to serving
and protecting the life, property, and environment of the
residents in which we serve. We are always looking for new
members!

July 15: The 2008 Fireman's Carnival is up and running. The carnival grounds official opened at 6 PM. At 7:30 Pm the Sudlersville Middle School Band performed several selection in front of a packed tent. Tonight's main event is the Baby Contest. Registration will start at 6:00 PM and ends at 6:45 PM. Art Davis will be the DJ on the main stage tonight. |

June 30: At 20:23 Hrs Sta 6 was alerted for a Tree fire at 1202 Roe Rd. Chief 6 arrive on location and found electrical wires touching the top of a pine tree causing the fire. Chief 6(F. Kinnamon) assumed Roe Road CMD. Choptank Electric responded and removed the tree limbs. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 45 min with a total staffing of 23 personnel. Units on the box E-64, Chief 6, B6, and Choptank Electric While en-route to this call The station was alerted for a medical box in the 6-2 box. Shortly after A-6 PM 600 arrived on location the station was alerted again to Assist Kent Co MD. Sta. 2 on a working Rescue box on Route 30. June 27: At 19:07 Hrs Sta 6 was alerted for Wires down in the area of 100 Miller Street. Chief 6 arrived and reported that 1 high voltage wire was down in the roadway and 601 (Chief Kinnamon) assumed Miller Street CMD. Engine 64 and chief 6 secured the scene till DP&L arrived and cut the power to the wire. The power wire broke due to a lighting strike to the pole it was attached to. annual spring BBQ. SVFC members start at 7:00 AM cooking 400
chicken halves at Southern States parking lot. At 3:15 PM

| April 27: After many years of bring joy and happiness to trap shooters of all ages J&P Hunting Lodge is no more. With the assistance of Crumpton, and Church Hill Fire company, Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company burned the Lodge at the request of the owners. The first 2 hours were spent performing mock salvage and overhaul operation and search and rescue procedures. At approximately 10 AM the fire was started for the last time and the personnel exited the building. J&P Hunting Lodge introduced many people to the sport of trap shooting, wildlife management, and educating many children on hunting safety. Family, Friends, and neighbors watched as J&P Hunting Lodge slowly turned to ashes. Other companies attending the drill Church Hill, Crumpton, QA Co. PM 600. Kent Co DE. Traumatic Injury In the 6-8 Box |

April 26: At
012:10 Hrs Sta 6 was alerted for a traumatic injury at 808
Cemetery Road. While units were in route Queen Anne EOC
advised that the subject was run over by his truck while
working on it. Aviation was started due to the nature of the
injury. Units arrived on location to find the PT removed
from under the vehicle and walking around. The Pt. was
evaluated by EMS personnel for injuries and decide to
canceled aviation due to finding only minor injuries.
The Pt. was transport by ground to Kent General Hospital in
Dover DE. Officer 607 (R. Nicholson) Had CMD. Sta 6 units
operated for approximately 30 mins with a total staffing of
15 personnel. Units on the box E-64, R-6, AMB 6,Chief 6, and
PM 600 |

| April 17: At 18:13 hrs Sta 6 was alerted for a MVC with possible entrapment at the intersection of Route 300 and Peters Corner Rd. PM 600 was the first unit to arrive and gave a status report of a 2 vehicle MVC appears serious and request aviation. Officer 601 (F. Kinnamon) arrived on R-6 and assumed command. The crew from rescue 6 investigated both vehicles and reported to command that there was no entrapment. E-64 arrived and pulled a hand line so the rescue crew could plug a large gasoline leak from the vehicle on it's side. Command assigned E-61 as the L/Z unit for aviation. A total of 4 PT were transported, 1 by Trooper 6, 1 to Chester River Hospital by PM 600, and 2 by Delaware aviation to Christiana. After all PT were transported Sta 6 units assisted MSP with lighting for scene reconstruction and SHA with detour and traffic control. Sta 6 units operated for approximately 4 Hours . with a total staffing of 22 personnel. Units on the box E-64, R-6, PM 60, E-61, B-6, Chief 6, PM 600, PM 400, MD 1, Trooper 6. From Kent Co. DE. | April 14: 18 members of SVFC attended the fund raising event on April the 12 for Cubby Morris at Hartly Vol Fire Co. Cubby is a Life Member and Past President of Hartly, who is battling stage 4 esophageal cancer. The Members of SVFC showed there support for Cubby by spending over $800.00 on items during the auction. SVFC 2nd Annual Truck Pull |

| April 14: The Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company held it's 3rd Annual Truck Pull on April 12th at the Queen Anne's County 4H Park. The day started out great with the sun shining and warm temperatures. That soon changed when the sky's turned black and heavy rain came around noon. After consulting the participants and the sled owner everyone agreed to go ahead with the pull in the mud. After a 2 hour delay the first truck pulled around 3 PM. Over 40 trucks made pulls on the muddy track in front of approximately 150 wet spectators.
